Luteal Phase Defect Treatment
During the luteal phase, after ovulation, abundant progesterone helps to create a favourable environment for conception and pregnancy.
When progesterone is not produced in sufficient quantities from the ovaries following ovulation, implantation cannot occur. This luteal phase defect usually happens in conjunction with imbalances in the endometrial glands, meaning that even if progesterone is administered artificially, it is often not processed effectively, and the uterine lining remains unresponsive.
TCM helps to raise the level of progesterone production by improving ovarian function, and assists the endometrial glands to increase receptor sites for progesterone, thus creating a favourable environment for conception.
The Fertile Soul has a great article going into further detail on the mechanism behind this.
