Endometriosis (en-doe-me-tree-O-sis) is an often chronically painful inflammatory condition in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus. Endometriosis most commonly involves your ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining. It can also involve secondary inflammatory indicators.
The following supplements can help with both the immune and blood function involved in the condition:
NAC- N-acetyl cysteine – decreases abnormal cell growth inflammation, reduces inflammatory genes, and down-regulates an overactive immune system.
Glutathione- a master antioxidant, significantly inhibits proliferation of human endometriotic cells.
Vitamin D – significantly reduced interleukin 1β and tumor necrotizing factor-α inflammatory responses, and also reported fewer endometrial stromal cells and reduced DNA synthesis, receptors can be found within the endometrium. Has an antiproliferation, anti-inflammatory, and immune modulation effects.
Probiotics- influences the serum markers of inflammation, intestinal permeability and protein oxidation in mice with endometriosis, the endometrial lining is also dominated by lactobacillus and low levels have been shown to influence pregnancy outcomes.
Selenium- commonly depleted with SIBO, it supports the corpus luteum, has anti-inflammatory properties, and it also supports the immune system. Can be found in Brazil nuts.
Curcumin- downregulates inflammation and OS in endometriosis. Moreover, curcumin can directly act on invasion, adhesion, apoptosis, and angiogenesis in endometrial lesions.
Resveratrol- increases cell death and decreases the proliferation of endometriosis lesions, inhibiting further development of this disease.b
Green Tea- inhibits the development, growth and spread of endometriosis. Antioxidant, anti-angiogenetic effect, reduces and inhibits the development, growth and spread of endometrial lesion.
